August 22, 200619 yr My AI aircraft are for the most part directed to their proper gate assignments (I have airlines assigned to specific gates at most airports) but the plane the I fly seldom if ever is directed to its proper spot. Today I landed my Northwest 787 at Frankfurt EDDF on runway 18. I just happen to have NWA gate assignments near the 18/36 midpoint turn off, but ATC directed me down to C-5, which is at the other end of the airport near 25R and is a blank gate. (I leave some blanks for overflow). Doesn't ATC recognize the parking codes for the user aircraft?
August 22, 200619 yr Doesn't ATC recognize the parking codes for the user aircraft?NoUser aircraft use a different parking logic based on aircraft radius. To get your aircraft assigned to a specific gate - you can shrink your aircraft radius to smaller than any other FS aircraft and set a parking spot to that radius. Though this does tend to distort any spot views from outside the aircraft.Another trick is to set your desired gate parking codes to something like XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXYou will not be assigned to the gate by ATC, but it should be open for your to park. But if you are into flying to many different airports - it's going to be a lot of work to modify them all. Most of us just ignore the request to contact ground and taxi to the gate / parking area we want if parking with a specific airline is important.
August 22, 200619 yr I assume you are using the stock FS ATC? thats very limited, I'd suggest trying Radar Contact 4, when you set-up your flight you can assign what gate you leave from and what gate you arrive at. The ATC is way better and it works over the default ATC so the AI would still park at the correct gates.:) Alaister Kay
