Frequent Clicking/popping audio noise

I've noticed with certain aircraft I get this popping noise that shows up every few seconds. Whether its headphones or speakers, it doesn't make a difference. Is this a hardware issue or something else? I tried updating the realtek audio drivers with no success. Anyone know how to fix this?
