RXP GNS430 2.4.4 No TCAD Audible Alerts

Featured Replies

Greetings! I have the RXP gns430 and 530 v2 with the latest update (2.4.4). Everything seems to work fine for the 430 - except I’ve been unable to hear any audible voice warnings from TAWS when the visual warnings display. This works fine for the 530 unit. Is this a limitation of the 430? I have the audible enabled in the settings and the volume maxed out. Appreciate any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi,

your post title is about TCAD, the content about TAWS. Which one is which?

Sorry - That should read both TCAD/TAWS - as they both play audible voice alerts on my 530.

Trying to to figure out if that’s supposed to work the same way for the 430? The visual warnings work fine in the 430. Thanks!!

Ok, the GNS 430W doesn't have TAWS, we've just forgot to remove the option in the settings panel. AFAIK, only starting with real GNS software 4.0 it did get HTAWS.

We'll see if we can do something about it but I doubt it.

As for TCAD, do you mean you don't have audio feedback 'TRAFFIC TRAFFIC' sound? We'll check this one out and let you know.

Ok thanks for the clarification! Correct - I do not receive the “traffic traffic” audible alerts - I do however receive the visual alerts. Thanks much for a great product!!

Hi, I confirm there is no TCAD audio alerts (bug) although there is the popup window alert displaying ok.

We'll correct this in the next update, and in the meantime we've been exploring enabling TAWS even for the 430 and we are making progress, but I don't promise this feature though.

Ok great! Thanks for the quick response. I’ll look forward to the next update!! Thanks for trying to figure out the TAWS too. That would be great - but I understand there are no guarantees ...
