August 28, 200619 yr I thought I read somewhere that setting your af at 16 doesn, twork because fs9 doesn,t recognize it. If there is any truth tothis you may want to try reducing your af setting. I use aa 4 and af 8.RegardsRuss
August 28, 200619 yr 16x AF does work and makes a difference. Try lowering it and you'll see. If you lower it, the textures will not be as sharp and you'll see a more pronounced 'crawling ants' effect.
August 28, 200619 yr Well ive done some tests....Used default aircraft in fs9, flew out of a small airstrip in USA (somewhere out in sticks I think haha) and with NO addons or traffic, and yet still the blurrs occur! It seems all textures are super sharp around plane, but u can see where they start to blur, because they seem to have a dark shadow over them? this is what makes them stand out! Also tried at 1024x768 res but it has same effect!hmmmmmIan
August 29, 200619 yr Im going to attach 2 pics of what I experience, in the hope someone else has had the same problem and a cure?!?Pic 1http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154905.jpgPic 2http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154906.jpgI have set FS9.exe to use the second CPU all to itself, so it has max horse power!AA 4x, AF16x HIGH QUALITY, autogen dense, scenery complexity dense. Pics taken in default fs9 aircraft with no addons....No AI......Only weather (same effect without weather) visibility limited to 29 via AS6.Please help me!! The blurries look awful...I will also attach a copy of my fs9.cfg if anyone would care to take a look?If u prefer to help me via email, its [email protected]!IanFS9.cfgfilehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154907.txt
August 29, 200619 yr It is probably CFG file related...TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=3.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4*TRY* setting all of the above back to defaults (0) and see if that helps or hurts the issue.Failing that, I have good luck with...TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=7.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=7.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=1I also noticed your shots are from 6,000 feet - you may be seeing the natural border for the mipmapping to kick into gear. Unfortunately, having a case of the blurries does seem to be fairly machine specific - there's no one magic setting to cure it on all computers. You may have to experiement some more with the above radius settings to find your computer's sweet spot.Edit: As a last-ditch effort, you can back up your CFG file and then totally DELETE it - this will cause FS to rebuild the file from scratch and may (*keyword "may") help the issue. -Greg
