Editing Panel Backgrounds?

Featured Replies

Hello: Hope I can make this question clear...I have several airplanes that I enjoy flying in FSX...But, a few of them have annoying or silly stickers painted onto the panel itself...Is there a way for me to edit these panels and remove the details I want gone? I have several paint programs that I could use...Thanks for any advice...

Yes.

Your best bet is to download DXTBmp. and use it as a middle man, also recommend you install the accompanying  mwgfx dll files, from in the same site.

Make backup copies before proceeding.

1. Install DXTBmp, and Under Prefs Set Your Editor. (A paint program you have or Paint.Net, GIMP, Photoshop, etc.)
2. Open the texture file in question, and send it to the editor. (Image -> Send to Editor)
(If you don't know which file has the stickers you want to remove You can use File -> Browse for Images and select the image that has the stickers.)

3. Edit the texture and save the changes. (Use the default file name given to the image by DXTBmp)
4. Back in DXTBmp  reload the image (Image -> Reload After Edit)
5. Save the Image.

Done.

NOTE: Check out the rest of the MW Graphics site, by Martin Wright, it is full of goodies.

Edit: Didn´t realize this was an old post. anyway here are the instructions.
