December 8, 20187 yr In the “continuing improvements” category, it would be nice if the airspeed index can be made to rotate to the top of the airspeed scale. Currently it stops at 250 knots. If that can be done without major re-coding of the instrument. I see that the index on the Lear 35 airspeed indicator does work correctly in this regard. I verified that the airspeed index on the actual F50 does go all the way to the top. I like to use the associated fast/slow needle on the ADI to monitor the speed trend in climb, which I typically do at 290 KIAS above 10,000 feet. At a Mach 0.78-0.80 cruise at or above FL 390 the corresponding IAS is just below 250 knots, so it can be used there in its present form, and below 10,000 feet of course - but with a 250 knot limit, on the index, you lose the utility of the fast-slow indicator between 10,000 feet and approx FL390, (unless cruising very slow).
