December 16, 20187 yr Ant's fine payware drifter Microlight from Justflight, which replaces the old FSX Trike if you do not mind cruising at a 2000 ft. AGL and at 70 knots to enjoy the scenery of the valley I grew up in, or your own place of growing up or dream vacation spot. Ant's drifter even has an autopilot and fair flight computer, though I prefer just dead reckoning and setting the heading hold and alt hold. John
December 16, 20187 yr Who needs Autopilot, John? When you know Napa Valley well, dead-reckoning is indeed good enough! Nice photoreal shots.

I use the Autopilot so I can capture the screenies, that is all. Otherwise I just love to hand fly this lil bird. My first time handling a real GA Cessna was with a now deceased famous aerial photographer, popular for his books and Time magazine pics. His name was William (Bill) Garnett, based out of Napa County airport in his final years. He NEVER took people up in his vintage polished aluminum four place taildragger Cessna, but he saw my friend and I taking photos around the airport and said if we helped polish his plane, he'd take us up. I sat right seat while he gave me the controls for a bit, my first time flying a real aircraft, back in the 80's. Later I shared my aerial photos with him and he said one was a work of art. The other pilots in the airport restaurant were extremely jealous that we got to fly with him and stunned he took us up, shaking their heads because they wanted to fly with such a famed pilot. He created the art of aerial photography, had many stunning black and white and color pics and many stories to tell. John https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Garnett_(photographer)
December 16, 20187 yr Thanks, John. Yes, his B&W aerial pictures seem remarkable. Glad you not only got a chance to go up in his treasured (1955) 170B Cessna, but also got the control for a bit. I will keep a watch for an exhibition of his art in one of the Museums...
December 17, 20187 yr Third shot from the bottom is an interesting one. Great story also, by the way. Looking forward to the Cessna 170B coming from Alabeo. One of my favorite aircraft of all time and sorely overlooked for FSX all these years. John
