August 25, 200619 yr First, I really like the trees. An excellent bit of artistic endeavour. However, the houses do not seem to fit as well into the landscape. Flying at 2000ft AGL the houses are more distinct than even the improved and higher resolution textures. At 1000ft they become a distraction (to me). As some have commented, at altitude (personal taste) they find the need for houses to be superfluous and a drain on resources. I agree. Even at lower altitudes the very sharply defined houses setting atop a slightly blurred texture is at odds with nature. It was the same in FS( but to a much higher degree). Simply put it subtracts from realism when the object is much clear than the ground it is setting on. When the aircraft is on the ground there is little that can be done until some textures that offer centimeter resolution become available. Therefore in my humble opinion (or IMHO) I would like to be able to retain the trees but to not see any houses as an autogen option. Or, a way to set the autogen clarity to match the underlying texture appearance. In this case you might be offered one or two "detail" settings for none vegetation objects to allow better visual blending as you fly.Dick near airport 5G8 regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
August 25, 200619 yr I think this is somewhat related to the houses showing through clouds issue too. They just seem to stand out over everything....We'll see though once the retail is out.
August 25, 200619 yr interesting idea there...I too would like to see the same thing...I found that by setting the autogen to sparse, I still retain the same amount of trees as the "normal" setting, but the houses are less dense...I found this to be a good balance of performance and eye candy...On regards to my post about missing autogen because I was flying with it off, I had to get back on the wagon!! I missed them too much!

August 25, 200619 yr Theoretically turning off Autogen and continuing to see 3D trees should be impossible. You will, or should only, see photographs or textured facsimiles but not 3D models. If you found a way to continue to see the 3d models(which are excellent), with the Autogen slider full left, that would be a breakthrough.Regards,Dick 5G8 regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
August 25, 200619 yr Author I am not sure what is or is not possible. I know I see plenty of trees on the hills with the autogen off. And they look to me exactly the same as the trees when I have autogen at max, whether they are 2D or 3D.
