Installation Issues of the Falcon 50

Recommended Posts

I just purchased the Falcon 50 from Simmarket. Trying to load the aircraft in P3D is resulting in a CTD. I thought I may have jumped the gun configuring the Payload Manager with two GTN's...I didn't read the note on the bottom! I don't think the fault was a F1 GTN issue...I have flown the RealAir Turbine Duke with dual GTN's since upgrading to P3D v4.4 and the GTN update.

Uninstalled the FSW F50 software, rebooted the PC then re-installed the FSW software (as administrator) with Windows Defender off. Did not touch the P/L Manager this time. Same result, CTD. I can load the default aircraft without issue. As a test, I was also able to load the FSLabs 319 without issue. I don't think it's a P3D issue.

Trying to load the Falcon 50 directly from the P3D start menu results in an immediate CTD. If I load the default aircraft first (at the default location), I get a momentary black screen with the Falcon (approx. 2-3 seconds) where I can hear the sound of the engines, and then a CTD.

As a third test, I tried loading the FSW Lear 35 and I'm getting the same fault with that aircraft (CTD following a black screen)...truthfully, I have not flown the FSW Lear since upgrading to v4.4, so I can't say for certain when that issue started.

Every time, it's a kernelbase.dll fault.

Has anyone else seen this issue? Program Manager is indicating I have version 1.0 of the Falcon installed. There are no other updates available from the FSW website as far as I can tell.

I use Driver Booster 6.1 and that program is indicating I have all the latest drivers installed for my system.

Help!

Do you have the Rex/Milviz weather radar? If so, you should uninstall it for the time being. It is not yet compatible with P3D 4.4, and will cause a CTD on loading with any aircraft that uses it in the panel. Both the Falcon and Lear do try to load the radar if it is installed on the system.

Thank you Jim! After your suggestion, I initially tried to disable the WX Radar in that menu...no luck. Uninstalling the WX Radar software did work!

Much appreciated!

Regards, Rob
