Hello. So I got the PMDG 747-8 finally and I was going to install it when I got a notification that my 747-400 needs to be updated. So I go the OC and select install update and then click ok. It downloads 1.08 megabytes then a black screen appears and disappears in a second. So I turn the OC off, only to turn it back on and find that the update hasn't installed. Is there any fix to this?

Your version is too old to be updated via the OC. Download the installer from your PMDG account, uninstall the old version (important!!!!!!!!) via the control panel and then install the new one. After that, go into the OC, update it and install the -8 afterwards.

Ok thanks. Its almost downloaded

So I installed the 747-8 and now it won't stop crashing to desktop. If I may hijack this topic, is there any fix to that? I am using FSX SE
