any 5.1 speaker user's care to comment on the sound

Only got 2 speakers will be upgrading when FSX gets releasedWhat do all you 4 or 5.1 user's think of the demo, does the CRJ engines sounds appear behind you?, are you getting the wrap-a-round experience?CheersJOhn

I can say it's GREAT! The sound is immersive and wraps around and of course dependent on whether you are inside or outside.

Its nice but after a while you don't really care where the sound is comming from and you merely hear just "engines". When you're in aircraft look view the transition from speaker-to-speaker is very sharp when you pan around.Don't go get 5.1 speakers unless you are pretty much using your computer as a media center for DVD's and stuff.

Get yourself a nice sub-woofer though, because the bass is terific. A huge improvement on FS9 sound.Mike.

Since Andy says: "Its nice but after a while you don't really care where the sound is comming from and you merely hear just "engines"." that's because we are closer to realism and no more need to pay attention to the audio detail. Now you just draw your attention to other aspects of the simulator while enjoying the surround sound.

Thanks for the replies.I Have a Videologic sirocco 2.1 sound system and the audio quality has to be heard to be believed, dont want to scrap this setup and replace it with a new 4.1 sound system I want to keep the Videologic combo and add another 2 speakers if possible, will have a look round the back of the PC and see if the Audigy card has the neccesary Inputs.Really glad ACES have upgraded the sound In FSX, IMO sound is 50% of the experience and is often overlooked, lets hear it for ear candy:).cheersJohn

Anyone know of a file I could download that helps in fine tuning my speakers (check the balance, positioning, etc.). The 5.1 sound is not as impressive as I'd hoped, so maybe I need to fine tune it.

I know with my Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live it comes with a diagnostics program within the EAX console
