AI schedules from FS2004 to FSX.

Featured Replies

I have several questions to developers regarding AI schedules. As all of us already know, traffic.bgl files from FS2004 should work OK in FSX. But...1) Did MS change the format of schedules? i.e. will TTools 2.0 work with FSX or we will need brand new version of compilerdecompiler.2) If new features for schedules' format were added, what are they? Thanks for responses. My BestDmitriy

Hi,All we know right now is:For the FSX demo:1. FS2004 traffic files do work2. FS2004 AFCAD files do work3. FSX traffic files cannot be decompiled by TTools4. FSX airport files cannot be read by AFCAD5. The FS2004 GVP (voice pack) will work6. Some prop planes will push back and leave the gate7. Jets won't leave the gate, and some other aircraft have the same problem8. FS2004 AI aircraft animate and fly correctly (but see #6 and 7)9. AFAIK it is not yet known how to get the baggage trucks to move up to an AI aircraftOf course, there might be changes between now and release.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

The baggage truck thing was mentioned elsewhere as having to do with exits. (An aircraft.cfg change apparently can fix that, though AI models aren't likely to have working doors yet.)While older AFCADs may work, there seem to be some new features that wouldn't be implimented in them. (Like requesting to taxi to the fueling area.) Also not sure if fueling trucks (shift+f) would be AFCAD related or not. Haven't seen any airports with them, or any airports with attaching jetways."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."

>>3. FSX traffic files cannot be decompiled by TTools>That's exactly what I wanted to know - thanks a lot, Tom. So it's clear indication that schedules' format has been changed if TTools2.0 cannot read it.

I suspect that the AI boats will have a schedule of some sort, so some of the changes may be associated with that.

Small boats, no, but ocean liners and cargo ships yes. They have ports just like the a/c have airports.

I see a load of virtual cruise lines opening up with realistic ai cruise scehdules :)

Decompiling FSX demo traffic with ttools did not work. But copying compiled traffic.bgl from FS9 works. However FSX demo traffic seems to have the "Jet pushback bug" which I described in a different thread.
