p3dv4 VR night settings for rift (DARK)

Featured Replies

due to its limited black levels on the rift, the p3dv4 world at night doesn't appear that dark, but adjusting the HDR sliders to the following will really make things darker (and more immersive in my opinion):

HDR=on

brightness=0.8

bloom=0.7

saturation=0.86

and adjust to taste.

and perhaps slightly tweak the following in p3d.cfg

[GRAPHICS]

TONEMAP_NIGHT_EXPOSURE_KEY=0.129930

the effect is pretty much total darkness on moon-less nights.   some colors banding will be observed but that happens with the HDR=off cases as well.
