February 5, 20197 yr Hi Everyone, I've been tinkering with X-plane as I wait for Rex Environment force to become available for P3D. I'm getting so tired of playing with presets and tweaking shaders in order to create a more-plausible world to fly in. I'm liking x-plane more and more every day, but I also like the idea of being able to adjust the environment "on the fly". Does X-ambience make it easy to tweak the look and feel of the sim? Is it worth it? Thanks for your opinions, John
February 5, 20197 yr I think it's no different than Ultraweather, which still require you to select texture sets for clouds sky etc. Right now i am using x-vision for the graphical side of things, and by using the presets people created i don't have to go down the tweaking lane on each individual value. Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
February 8, 20197 yr Author I bought the bullet and bought x-ambience. It's lousy. Half of the features don't work properly, and you still need to restart the sim for a lot of the changes to take effect. Hard to save presets, and there aren't any out there made by others. It has potential, but this should have been a beta, not a pricey addon. Out of all the addons I've bought for both sims over the years, this is by far the worst. I'm seriously considering getting x-vision now that you've mentioned it.
