Xplane 11 Terrible Problems

Featured Replies

Hi I have a major problem in Xplane 11, I have alot of stutters and i get 30fps locked with no dips at all. I have a very good system with a Ryzen 2700x 24gb Ram Rtx 2070. Also Anti Aliasting is very bad i have to put it at 8xssaa for it to look decent. 4xssaa looks like None.

Thank You!

That sounds like a good system, so something must be interfering with the sim. Try this procedure for diagnosing performance problems:

1. First, delete the "X-Plane.prf" file in the Output/preferences folder. Restart X-Plane and see if it helps.

2. Make backups and then delete all plugins in the Resources/plugin folder. If that helps, then try restoring plugins one by one until you spot a problem.

3. Drastically reduce all your graphics sliders in Settings and turn off shadows on ground objects. Start increasing your graphics sliders until you find the point where you have a flyable frame rate and no stutters.

Normally, problems are related to #1 or #2.

I have seen stutters in Xplane11 related to certain scenery areas.  Other areas are fine, does not seem to be a memory problem.  When I fly over photoscenery everything is smooth as glass with fps in the 50's-60's.  I did reduce my resolution, it helped with memory issues and the odd random crash every ten hours of flying or so.  I am on 11.31 and do not plan on upgrading anymore, I am satisfied 110 pct with 11.31 even though 11.32 is out.  I get no crashes, no issues, just fine flights long or short.  I used to get crashes on replays but with 11.30 something changed, and I no longer get crashes.  I reported my replay crashes to Laminar so they must have found and fixed something.  I have never been so happy with a product as I am with Xplane11 and my suite of add-ons, my homemade photo scenery, my VSkylabs Microlights, my Carenado Pilatus, and Aerobask Eclipse.

And I have wonderful freeware airport scenery for many west coast airports.  Xplane11 is keeping Lockheed Martin competitive, as I also have P3DV4.4.  I share equal time in both sims, often playing back recorded flights for relaxation now that P3D's recorder is fixed.  Which sim is better?  When I post here, Xplane11 is better, lol, when I post in the P3D forum, P3D is better, I am equal opportunity...

Did you do what was recommended above?  Antialiasing isn’t very good in Xplane. You must have HDR on to get any semi-decent AA.   Be sure nothing else is running in the background.
