April 8, 20197 yr Hello all, So I have been contemplating a pc upgrade shortly and came across a gtx 1060 6gb card online, Before upgrading the pc figured I’d try the card in my current setup as purchased the found GTX 1060, I took my GTX 660 out and put the GTX 1060 in. I knew my current cpu would bottle neck the GPU however I thought I would see a little jump in performance, There hasn’t reallly been much a performance jump, Maybe a small one but nothing major. I am going to upgrade my current system in the near future so figured I’d just use the gtx 1060 I just bought in the next system so not feeling overly bothered by the very small performance boost. Anyways, I’m running an old I5 650 @ 3.2ghz...Jut wondering, Am I correct in thinking that cpu is a huge bottle neck to that card? April 8, 20197 yr For sure, Even my specs, the CPU would be bottleknecked. https://pc-builds.com/calculator/ But be aware....https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/993160-bottleneck-calculator-legit/ Edited April 8, 20197 yr by Jude Bradley Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK.
