Are you Vista ready?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,Microsoft VISTA has launched a new BETA tool to allow visitors to test their current computers to see whether it is sufficient enough to run VISTA. You can download this using the following link.http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getr...or/default.mspx RegardsMohawk200x

It says my computer can handle vista. Doesn't matter as I am getting a new computer anyways.

Me too!Do you think this is accurate? I mean the minimum specification must be quite low!Mohawk200x

No. It says my Commodore 64 is Vista ready. :(I'm upgrading most of my PC when FSX and Vista approach anyway. I want a Conroe, 4GB RAM, DX10 GPU, and a nice new 24" monitor. :) And some new speakers. Mine suck, and I need good 5.1 for this! But, it also says it's ready for Vista Aero... I thought Aero required a DX10 video card to work correctly. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I've understood up until now...

The Aero feature of Vista "only" requires a fully-compliant DX9 card with a minimum of 128MB. Now if they will only include some means of measuring the desktop theme framerates....Doug

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.
