Help needed wit navigraph installation for EMB505

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

I am very new to FSX-SE and bought EMB505-300 with navigraph expansion as well.

Installed both and running but as soon as i want to start adding departure,nav and arrival points no data shows up.

I bought a subscription for  navigraph which is valid for one year, installed file but no joy.

Also aircraft loads in but database does not build, is stuck at 0% for navigraph

Please can someone direct me on how to correct this.

Thanks in advance.

Just to give more info used Navigraph FMS Data Manager to install latest cycle 1905

Once the Navigraph Extension and Carenado aircraft are installed, go to the Navigraph website and download the AIRAC.  It will download the airac automatically into the proper folder.  But first, you have to tell Navigraph where your Carenado folders are located.  You do this on the main menu where you download the nav data.  If you go to Addon Mappings menu in the upper right corner at Navigraph, you can then tell to Scan your folders and it will scan and find all aircraft eligible for downloading NavData/AIRAC.  You then save and then click on the Addon List and Carenado(all products) should be seen.  Check the box and then update or click on the down arrow, and the AIRAC will be downloaded to the proper folder.  That's it.  Nothing more to do.  Once installed, start up FSX-SE, click on the EMB 300, set the airport, and click on Fly Now.  When it gets to the airport, the new AIRAC program will start up.  If you do not see it, look under the Window as it could be located behind your browser.  Nothing to do if you see it but seeing it gives you an idea when the AIRAC has been loaded into the aircraft.  Once loaded, you should look in the Primary Flight Display to see the AIRAC number and date.  Go Fly.

There has been some problems with owners of any G1000 Carenado installs in their aircraft.  I have had some problems but not enough to get me frustrated.  It just takes some time to learn where the hotspots to turn the gauge knobs one way or another.  Many have problems think the data is not installed but it is.

Just remembered there is another procedure to make sure the Navigraph Extension is loaded.  See the following link - https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/479500-carenado-emb505-phenom-300-hd-series-prepar3d-v3/?do=findComment&comment=3355177.

Hi Jim Young,

Did what you mentioned already, used Navigraph FMS Data Manager and picked up carenado (all compatible aircraft) and is automatically saving it to Navigraph folder in FSX.

Problem is still doesn't want to load database on start up of aircraft.

For second procedure you mentioned i am not sure where to add the extra text and into which dll

 DonShould be in same folder as the scenery,cfg. I don't know this is difficult.  As I recall I had the same problem too. But that was a long time ago. Think a module is not loading.i as not sure it was in the dll or exe.xml. it should be in the correct folder. It is 4:30am and posting from my bed on my most hated text program. Will check again when I get up and on the main computer.  Make sure you have no updates on Carenado site by looking in your account.

Hi Jim,

I decided to reinstall my sim, so currently busy redownloading and will install again and then check.

Currently no new update available on Carenado.

Just irritating as i thought it would integrate very easy.

My Carenado entries are in the default location in the same folder as the scenery.cfg.  The entries are as follows:

<Launch.Addon>
        <Name>CMeteoXml</Name>
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <Path>.\CMeteoXml.dll</Path>
    </Launch.Addon>
    <Launch.Addon>
        <Name>Carenavigraph</Name>   This is the module that loads the most current NAVDATA after it was installed by Navigraph.
        <Disabled>False</Disabled>
        <Path>.\Carenavigraph.dll</Path>
    </Launch.Addon

As I recall, you will have one chance to load the new AIRAC from Navigraph.  So, make sure you look in a Window behind the Flightsim Window and look for the image showing it is loading the new AIRAC.  If not there then it will probably not load when you try again.

Make sure you start up FSX with Admin Privileges.
