April 27, 200620 yr Hi,It would be cool if we could define the flight path of an AI mission and give it actions. For instance, have a plane which takes off from an airport, does a circling climb to 13,000 ft, spits out some skydivers at a particular location, or a random location within a specified set of coordinates, and then lands again at the same airport to pick up another load and do it again. And be able to define the times and dates that it performs these operations. There are lots more things that could be done like this, like firefighting operations, line checking (or whatever it is called), stuff like that. Can this (the parachute thing) be done today? Can you modify the ATIS at a local airport, to include things like a warning of parachuting in a particular area? Can this change in the ATIS be triggered by an event, like the time the AI mission described above is active? Thanks,Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
April 30, 200620 yr Gee maybe they could start in AI by moving the departureAirport to where it should be, instead of at the end of the line/string of the flight plan.
May 1, 200620 yr Why bother? Since all AI flights are a loop, coming at the end instead of the beginning is really the same thing.Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
May 1, 200620 yr If we had an option to provide more detailed flightplans for AI, like using waypoints instead of just great circles, many comprehensive AI missions could be possible. For starters, victor airways would finally make sense. Transoceanic routes would be more realistic, and of course, custom missions like firefighting, S&R, etc will become possible.Cheers,=S.V.=
May 2, 200620 yr >You should be very happy in a few months. ;)No kidding?? THAT'S REALLY good news! Keep talking, please ... :), well I know you won't, so I'll wait a few monthsEdit: This is a big feature, Mike, I was looking forward to it.
