May 22, 20197 yr 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Quad Core 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 These are my laptop specs and I am wondering if this system will work with P3D? I had a desktop that ran it very well but it went TU. My wife bought me this laptop in its place and I want it to run P3D. Thank you for any advice that anyone can give me. Jeffg Jeffrey Gerbert
May 23, 20197 yr At the very least you should replace the HDD with an SDD. Those 5400rpm laptop drives are sloooow. Other than that, you're fairly close to the specs of the box I was running before my last upgrade. It'll run, but you'll have to turn the sliders way down, and you'll still have framerate stumbles if you fly in dense scenery areas like LA or NYC. May 24, 20197 yr Author Thank you for your reply,I plan on buying a external SSD drive this week and see if that works. JeffG Jeffrey Gerbert
May 24, 20197 yr If it were me, I would buy an internal ssd 1tb Samsung 870. Replace the 5400rpm hdd, they are slow as hell! You’d have to re-install windows, but it would be worth the effort. Usually laptops come pre installed with a load of bloatware, so you can also get rid of that by doing a proper re-install. My 2pence.
