Many technically competent, independent reviewers have spoken very positively about the 15% IPC improvement, the smaller 7mm architecture, 35MB+ cache and lower wattage TDPs that the new Ryzen series will have. With the better pricing also, you would be silly not to at least give consideration to the new Ryzen as a build option. Agree on the Noctua NH-D15 air cooler. I'm a big fan of the big fan... I will definitely consider it. If I can be confident that something like the Ryzen 7 3700X or 3800X is going to boost performance I will very much consider it. It's funny, the thing the Micro Center guy said he likes about the Ryzen 2700 is I will get much better improvement from the core, where it is most needed for P3D (as opposed to the GC). Obviously there are people here that would take him to task on that. Likely more than one right answer and certainly many wrong ones which leaves me scratching me head. He did at least tell me I might want to wait a couple weeks to see what happens when the new one comes out. Thanks all. Bob

There are other factors also: price/performance ratio, multi-core performance (if you use other apps that take advantage of it), and especially power used. Thanks Greggy, are you currently running P3D v4.5 with the 2700X 3.7GHz?
