GSX Parking Off issue - HEADACHE!

Recommended Posts

I'm getting parking position error at BIKF KEF Keflavik airport,

I have tried searching and none of the solutions have worked,

I have tried using FTX Global Vector Airport Elevation tool by using auto gen and also tried enabling apt and disabling it there with no joy,

Also tried regenerating airport cache in Coutl still no joy!

Is this an addon airport?  I also embedded the image for you.

Thank you, I'm new here so didn't know how to get it embedded.

This is a default scenery but I do have Orbx Iceland Demo installed.

I have also just tried another solution with no joy by deleting ProgramData\Virtuali\Coutl folder forcing a complete rebuild but GSX Rebuilds the positions the same as before.

I have tried a few other airports with default scenery the ones I tried seem okay so I think it might be to do with Orbx Iceland?

Thank you

I did try the ORBX Iceland demo a few years ago and it had some real issues in FSX.

If you haven't edited the parking positions in GSX, then it is using the parking positions it finds in the airport file which is active in P3D.  IIRC, BIKF is one of the airports that has an airport file embedded in the FTX Global scenery.  I do not use the Iceland demo, but still had fits trying to get the Aerosoft BIKF scenery to work until I found that ORBX airport file embedded in a place where I'd never think of looking for it.

You can tell which airport file is active by opening the GSX editor and looking for the airport file at the top of the window.

Well that's some useful information... I ended up uninstalling Aerosoft's BIKF because I could never get it to work properly in P3Dv4. My issue mostly resolved around some of the off-terminal areas not appearing, mostly hangars. I also remember the control tower halfway buried in the ground. Are these the types of issues you had as well?

Yup...the military ramp and hangars, in particular, were like 20 feet below-grade.  There was a folder buried in the ORBX scenery that included airport files for a bunch of iceland airports, including BIKF and BIRK.  Disabling them solved the problem.

Well, I wish I knew that before I uninstalled the scenery yesterday...heh, well, better late than never. Will reinstall and see if I can find the offending files. Thanks for the heads up! Would you be able to point me to the folder that contains these files?
