Because the developer design his game to use it with nvidia GPUs, on the other hand AMD drivers had some problems.

At this moment, the best solution is a Nvidia GPU, you should get a cheap GTX1660Ti, a good solution to p3d, xp11, dcsw and fsx.

Alright, will look to that. What is the difference between the 1660 and the ti version? And is it comparable with the 1070?

The difference between 1660 and 1660Ti is :

1660 use GDDR5 memory, performance between 1060 6GB and GTX1070, bandwidth 192Gb/s

1660Ti use GDDR6 memory, it is more fast, performance similar to GTX1070, bandwidth 288Gb/s

So if you have to choose between the 1660 and the 1070, the second one is still better even it is 2 years older than the 1660?

gtx1660 and GTX1660Ti are new gpus from 2019, ONLY GTX1660TI has a performance similar or same to GTX1070, it depends of the game you are going to play, the GTX1660Ti has a performance around +/- 5% gtx1070 depending of the game you are playing.

Today to get a GTX1070 is very difficult, get a GTX1660Ti, is a new tecnology and it is more efficient energetically.

gtx1660 (without Ti) is a GPU a around +15% powerful than GTX1060 6GB.

A good comparison, use Subtitles:

Alright, I will order a 1660 TI. I want to spent about 300€ on it, and I saw that there are a lot of different brands. Some of the 1660's have 3 fans, some have 1. Is there a difference between all those variants and brands? Is it better to get an Asus or an MSI for example?

Here you will find, for the most part, the different brands, references and features of GTX1660Ti:

First of all you should know what type of case you have, if it is an ITX model, micro ATX or ATX ... etc, then you must measure the dimensions of the space where the GPU will be located, the length, the width and the height, It is very important to know if your GPU fits smoothly inside the case.

You will have to consult the dimensions indicated by the manufacturer of the chosen model.

The difference between GPUs of a fan, two or three fans is that those of a fan are designed for ITX type cases, that is, very small, those of two and three fans will be for larger cases, that is, micro ATX and ATX

On the other hand, the reason why there are fans is to cool the GPU, the single-fan GPUs usually have a very basic cooling system, few thermalpads and few heatpipes, they are usually heated more than a two or three GPU fans.

Although I must be said that EVGA has some single-fan GPUs with a micro ATX or ATX format, these GPUs will have better temperatures than single-fan ITX GPUs because their radiator is larger, therefore it will be able to dissipate the temperature better, the inconvenience of these EVGA models are that they have too much height so it might not be compatible with your PC, so you have to measure dimensions.

In addition, the higher the factory overclock (Mhz), the higher the performance the GPU will have.

Asus, MSI, EVGA, Zotac and Gigabyte are good brands and offer different series or ranges for all budgets, the difference between them will be the quality of its components, whether it has factory overclock or not, if it has better or worse cooling system , if it has backplate or not, if the backplate is made of plastic or aluminum, if it has more or less thermalpads, different types of connectors for monitors, have frontplate or not, have more or less heatpipes, etc .....

In order to choose a model I recommend you that you read the characteristics of each model and read or see reviews of different brands and models, and compare.

So you will have to compare all these data to determine which model is according to your tastes and pocket.

Currently the best and most powerful and expensive GTX1660Tis on the market are:

ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB ROG STRIX GAMING OC

https://videocardz.net/asus-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-6gb-rog-strix-gaming-oc

(The only ASUS GTX1660Ti worth buying because the rest of the lower ASUS models have a very modest cooling system.)

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB AORUS

https://videocardz.net/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-6gb-aorus

MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GAMING X

https://videocardz.net/msi-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-6gb-gaming-x

Finally, I recommend that in addition to the GPU you buy a PSU with a power of at least 650W Gold so your equipment will have enough energy, the PSU will be more efficient, will be less heated, and the electric bill will be lower at the end of the year .
