January 17, 200620 yr Does this mean you're going to use 1:25000 data worldwide? Do you want to put us 3rd party designers out of business?!? ;)Christian
January 17, 200620 yr I went to mappoint.msn.com and the street I live on does indeed show up there, as do all the streets that make up my home town. IF this is the kind of road network detail we're going to see in FSX then I'll have to take my words back.Which brings me to my next question: are you really going to use all of the data you can get out of MapPoint, or will you be filtering out very small roads? In some points MapPoint seems to show even roads that aren't public, rather they're paths leading to people's yards. I even saw a couple of roads in my neighbourhood that haven't been there (well, they are, but they're overgrown) for 10 years if not more.
January 17, 200620 yr Just another level to exceed, that's all. If it ships with that kind of data, just imagine what 3rd party designers such as yourself can accomplish?http://home.earthlink.net/~dawgfighter/sit...es/swvasig1.gif-Jeremy BurchSWVA4806 http://www.virtualswa.com/home.phpThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!

January 18, 200620 yr "...will you be filtering out very small roads?"All data sets used in FS have some sort of filtering applied. I wouldn't expect smaller residential streets to appear in any country in the default version of FSX.Cheers,Jason
January 18, 200620 yr That's perfectly understandable :) So in all likelyhood the street I live on will not show up, but the streets in the town nearby will be there.. that's still a huge step up from FS9.
January 19, 200620 yr thats very awesome news about the road networks. I hope rivers streams and coastlines are also made more realistic as well. That would be awesome! UT has spoiled me and I only fly in the US and Canada for now
January 19, 200620 yr >"While flying around, he mentioned that the previous games>featured unrealistically sterile environments">>Very true!>>Not only was the software sterile but also the line of communication with the developers. Having members of the ACES team in our forums is such a great added feature that seems to also be coming with FSX. Not only do they add a feeling of being able to connect with such a big corporation like Microsoft with a personal feel but they also seem to make the members post more adult like comments and a higher level of respect for others compared to past post of future releases.
January 20, 200620 yr well no doubt they "look" nice, but are they based on real data, such as Ultimate Terrain? I don't know.
