Hey Guys.  In P3DV4, can I fly like normal with my standard joystick/mouse/keyboard setup, but also add an xbox type controller to use for things like moving my view.  I would think this could come in handy when autopilot is on and I just want to look around a bit.  Thanks.

In a word, yes. I highly recommend the paid version of FSUIPC for this.

thanks for the reply.  So if I go that route.  The main feature I want is panning when in spot plane view, or perhaps the cockpit.  Can I use the xbox controller AND the joystick hat switch?  Or does it only allow you to have one or the other?

You should be able to do both.

There are lots of Youtube videos that show how people have set up their controllers with FSUIPC. For example, https://youtu.be/SG0IwXPpEqghttps://youtu.be/I75IMi-mjx0, and https://youtu.be/Opf7PVTXmU0.

I'm sure that the Avsim community would be happy to help you out if you get the paid version of FSUIPC and have further questions.

ChasePlane to handle the Cameras and you can map the XBOX controller in it......Plus you could use SPAD.NEXT...I find it much easier than FSUIPC and also offers a lot of really nice additional features.

thanks guys.  I've started playing around with it.  All is working so far on the controller.  Still trying to figure out how exactly I'm going to use it.  For now I have basic up,down, left, right and a couple views for each to look around the cockpit and at instruments.
