Confirmation for engine shutdown and IRS off when on ground

Featured Replies

It happened twice now that I was in the phase after engine start and before taxi when MCE misunderstood one of my commands, the first time as "both fuel levers off" the second time as "all IRS off". In both cases that obviously ruined my flight (or at least gave me a significant delay).

I think MCE already asks for a confirmation with these commands when in flight, but it should also do on the ground.

These are critical commands and assuming engines are running, FO should always prompt before executing, unless those commands are part of a flow.

Either for some reason Fo isn't seeing engines running, or somehow speech engine picked up "yes" following a prompt.

Maybe time to re-calibrate your mike as it seems to be over-sensitive based on the other thread (flow execution). That would stress the speech engine, making it constantly analyze noise as speech.
