Virtual reality glasses fighter flight simulator

I thought this was interesting: https://uni3dlabs.ru/portfolio/fight-simulator-in-virtual-reality/

By order of the MIREA Branch in Fryazino, the United 3D Labs Computer Graphics Laboratory developed an arcade flight simulator for HTC Vive virtual reality glasses. Full realism of sensations - a real pilot's seat and material airplane control sticks!

The MIREA branch in Fryazino cannot boast of huge audiences, dozens of faculties and thousands of students of the parent university, but this makes the branch’s staff more attentive to each student and selects them when they still go to high school. Teachers travel to schools, organize all kinds of events and presentations, where they talk about the Branch and invite the most worthy to pass entrance exams.

Schoolchildren are schoolchildren. Therefore, they are ready to listen to the advantages of the university (since they have already collected), but with much greater pleasure they would hang on VKontakte or play some game. And here teachers get a trump card - a real flight simulator of a military fighter for virtual reality glasses, in a special pilot’s seat and even with a completely realistic airplane control knob and engine control lever! Most of the schoolchildren and just never experienced VR glasses, and as if nobody had to shoot a machine gun with a real trigger gun into an absolutely realistic enemy plane rushing at you.

At the same time, despite the exciting gameplay, realistic graphics and virtual reality glasses, this is not only a promotional game, but an example of exactly what future students will have to do - radio electronics, programming, computer graphics. The game contains elements of branding of the MIREA Branch, and the entire design and software were developed in such a way as to ensure the fastest installation and adjustment of the flight simulator on the spot.

The arcade flight simulator was developed by United 3D Labs on the Unreal Engine game engine specifically for HTC Vive virtual reality glasses. The aircraft is controlled using the Saitek Flight X-56 joysticks. The Leap Motion controller is used to determine the position of the player’s hands.
