I've had CP for a long time and in all that time the external views of the aircraft have been fine. But in recent weeks something has changed and I can't work out how to fix it.

When I switch to external view using R it switches to the outside view and all is fine. But I have multiple views all linked to F and that's the problem. Pressing F switches to a view that doesn't initially show the aircraft but then it moves into view in a couple of seconds. Same for all the other external views.

I've gone through the view settings but can't fix it so the aircraft is immediately visible. Can anyone assist please?

P3D v4.5 with various aircraft all exhibiting the same problem.

30 views but no help. Is this the official support forum? My first problem with CP and disappointed there's been no reply.

Camera > Advanced > Transition in and out ??? Just a guess as I don't use what you're doing.

Thanks @Twenty6. I turned off that option and the view switches instantaneously. But something must have changed in the core program as I always had the transition set and it never behaved like that until recently.

Interesting that 24 hours on from raising a ticket still no official response.

Problem solved. 'Follow Aircraft' is the problem. Turn it off and the aircraft stays in view and the view moves keeping the aircraft visible. With it on it appears from an off-screen position. 👍
