July 22, 20223 yr I have had the same experience with the pads as several have noted already. The clamp pressure screw head is just millimeters from slipping beneath my desktop, which is very frustrating, indeed. So, pads it has been. In addition to losing adherence (even with the soap-and-water method and keeping the desktop oil-free), the pads on both my quadrants have come unglued from the unit. Attempts to reglue them have not been only sporadically successful. I'm going to replace the pads with new ones today (glad these are on the market) and hope that works until I receive the XL clamps in a few days.
