September 17, 200619 yr I have been experiencing several large squares in lake michigan. They are darker then the surrounding water. I have seen several posts that discussed this in the past but there didn't seem to be any final resolution. Is this a bug within FS? I am using fs2004 - fs9 with an ati 9800 proAny thoughts or solutions would be appreciated.Thank You
September 17, 200619 yr Likewise! Also at night over the ocean. I suspect it is a texture loading problem that most folks have. I have an ATI X850-XT PCIe Extreme Platinum Edition GPU, 2GB Ram, 10k rpm HD and a 3.6 GHz CPU and I still have stutters and pauses, and water texture tiles not appearing normally, or textures that lag behind while loading. I spent a ton of money on this pc 18 months ago and was shocked to see those problems were still present.Scott
September 17, 200619 yr Author Hi all. These squares are caused by the lack of watermasks for thoise areas. The default FS9 watermasking only goes so far into the large water bodies... it then uses landclass to display water. And that is where the large rectangular areas display. :(The fix?FSX.Dick
