September 19, 200619 yr Maybe I posted in the wrong forum (PSS-Boeing forum, here at Avsim), so I'll try here.I have the PSS 777-200LR, and I want to use it with Meljet's 777-200ER model (because I prefer that model... and dislike PSS' one). I've tried these steps with no good result:- First, I tried simply aliasing Meljet 772ER with PSS panel. The result: I lose Auto-throttle.- Second, I changed the .air file for PSS' one. The result: Now I'll have A/T, but then I won't be able to takeoff (without the panel, and with the same setup,TOW, ZFW, etc, etc, etc, I only use 60-80% of the runway at SKBO).- Third, I tried downloading Karel Vanhees' PSS-Meljet merger, but the file is located inside Swiss Virtual Airlines forum, which requires to be a Swiss VA pilot in order to view it. And they're not accepting anyone at this moment. And Karel didn't answer my e-mail request. And PSS doesn't support merges, so no advice from them. So, at this moment, the 777 remains inactive. And please don't flame me for not searching: I've searched, and only found links to Swiss VA forum... and someone claiming that he already did it (but didn't explain how). Does anybody know how to make it work? How can I make it work? Thanks in advanceLuis Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. September 19, 200619 yr Author I prefer also the meljet model.I use the meljet 777-200 LR and 777-300 ER with the pss panel and the Pss airfile and aircraft.cfg (minus the contact points and lights section, which are those of the meljet).Everything works correctly this way.I have not tried the 777-200Er because it has different weights. But you can use the paintings of the meljet 777-200ER with the 777-200 LR.Hope this helps.RegardsGuy
September 24, 200619 yr Mmmmm... PSS' airfile and PSS' aircraft.cfg, am I using only PSS flight dynamics? I mean, if you use PSS 772LR's airfile and weights with a 772ER model, won't it have the weights of the 772LR, and then it would feel the same? With that in mind, I decided to use my Meljet 772ER with the PSS 772 LR airfile and aircraft.cfg. Very interesting your correction about the contact points and lights... maybe we could make a Cessna feel like a 777, and we wouldn't notice until we fly it ;)Anyway, thanks a lot. I think now it works correct. I have yet to try it in an airport at sea level, to check if it works properly. September 24, 200619 yr Well, no experience with the T7, but I have done a successful merge of the Posky A340 model with the PSS panel.First, use the PSS airfile when you are using a PSS panel. Otherwise, strange things will happen (oscillations, autothrust instabilities etc.).As for the aircraft.cfg - you also should use the data from the PSS .cfg to get all the weights, aircraft loads (you can then use the PSS load configurator and simply copy the loadout section over to your aircraft.cfg) and flight modeling data right. Contact points and lights, however, must be used from the models aircraft.cfg or else the aircraft will do strange things like "sinking" into the runway or not getting its wheels down to earth or may even crash when you load it (probably because of the differences with the scrape points). With these steps I have a very stable A340 with the (imho better) posky model and the PSS panel. It performs exactly like the native PSS 340, but looks somewhat better (the main reason I did this was, because a very special livery isn't available for the PSS 340 but had been done for the posky).
September 25, 200619 yr Nope, I thought wrong. I followed your suggestions, and also reconfigured the aircraft for long range operations from Bogot Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. September 26, 200619 yr Author As I said before I have used the meljet 777-200LR with the Pss panel, airfile and aircraft.cfg (minus contact and lights). I never tried the 777-200ER because of the different weights.I said that everything went well this way but I forgot to mention that the only gripe remaining was that on takeoff I had to set much more trim then indicated by the fmc. (the same thing you have seen).I don't know why this happens, but everything else is functioning.regards.Guy
September 26, 200619 yr You're right. I set 2-3 degrees more of trim and now it rotates at the V-speeds indicated in the FMC. The problem should be inside the PSS .mdl file. Why there? It's the only thing I've left different...I even changed the filenames to match those of the PSS model file. So, the only thing that we've left to do is to rebuild the model (no thanks, I pass), or accept that fact and add those 2-3 Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11.
