Question regarding FSX AI

Featured Replies

Does the AI still come to a complete stop on the runway after landing and then crawl to a taxiway as in FS9 or has this been fixed? Also, do they still do 180 degree turns for an exit behind them if there's one a little way ahead? Thanks for any info.

Hi Phil,I haven't done any detailed testing of FSX AI behavior yet but according to ACES the AI aircraft won't do those full stops anymore and will vacate the runway quicker than in FS9 because they are "smarter" in detecting the first available exit.I did about 20 minutes of spotting at CYVR with my FS9 custom AI ported to FSX and it looks like that is indeed the case - very nice!Sorry, didn't have a setup to test the 180-degree question.Cheers, Holger

Confirming that Holger is right.

the problem of doing 180 turns on the runway does not happen at airports with properly configured afcads. and you can use the problem FS9 Configurator by Ken Salter to change the taxi and runway rolling speed
