Is this the time to build a vr sim?

Featured Replies

Hoping to draw some opinions on setting up a vr rig strictly for sims- cars, heli’s and airplanes. Because of that use, especially for the heli stuff, I’ve decided that I want a very wide fov, and evidently pimax is really the only option. Looking at the 5k+. I know there are some downsides to going with pimax, and that it would require pretty much the best desktop pc you could put together. But is this a good time?

On the hardware side of things, will there be any big improvements coming up in the next year, like newer graphics cards, other pc improvements, or better pimax models supposed to get introduced? Is the new MS sim going to drive the hardware manufacturers to get out better stuff? If in reality nothing will really improve for several years, then I could get something built now, but I’d hate to invest now and in a year be behind the curve again. Just wondering what you all might think if you were starting out right now. Appreciate any input.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
