need advice on new monitor...for my system

Recommended Posts

hi everyone, i have a pretty old system that runs p3d pretty satisfactory at my eyes, i would like to invest in a bigger or better monitor . there are my specif:  windows 7  64

MotherboardAsus P8H77-M

Intel Core i7-3770K

Nvidia geforce  GTX Titan  running on 3 monitors

main monitor : ASUS VE278  27inch (1920x1080)  60 hz ,   2 extra monitors to run charts and so on... samsung syncmaster  19 i , LG TV 32 i

Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB,   Seagate ST3640323AS 640GB,  WD Black 2TB

Corsair Dominator DDR3 1866 C9 2x8GB

i would like to invest in a wide screen like the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q 34" 21:9 3440x1440 IPS 100Hz G ... but i wouldn't think my system could even handle it.

if you could give me some ideas in which would be a good monitor to replace my main ASUS VE278 that would be appreciate.  thx

henry

I would think that the Titan could handle anything. 1440p is fine.

I'd wait for the more knowledgeable guys to chime in though, before pulling the trigger on that 34" beast.

Cheers!

With P3Dv4, the GPU is the biggest driver in determining which video resolution you can support.  If you're using the original 6GB Titan, it's probably OK with an ultrawide QHD monitor like the PG384Q as long as you don't go crazy with AA or high-def terrain.

thx Bob for your time, yes you are correct there , it is the original Titan 6 Gigs, i am not sure i like to invest in a wide screen , i am use to my setup  for years , i use 3 screen side by side and it works just fine . But i am thinking about getting a better main monitor to be able to take advantage of the graphic card . I really thought my GPU is not worth anything anymore. I know i will have to invest sometimes in a better processor for sure .
