December 4, 20196 yr Ive looked in the manuals and cant seem to find a fix. When I press FPL I expect to see a page where I can enter my waypoints but there isnt one. Just the overview page. Is there any way I can reset the whole garmin or is there a file I can delete?

Hello Robbie, As a start, it would be helpful to know what GNS 530 you are using -- Flight1, RXP or FSW; and what sim? I haven't used the GNS 530, but from what I recall reading, and depending on what GNS 530 you have, you may have to develop the flight plan external to the GPS and then load the flight plan into the sim, and thus into the GNS 530. A great FREE tool for developing a flight plan and saving it in the sim format (.pln) so it can be loaded into the sim is Little Navmap. https://albar965.github.io/littlenavmap.html Al Edited December 5, 20196 yr by ark

P3D V4.5 Robbie, With the GNS unit you have I think you have to develop a flight plan using either the P3D flight planner or an external tool like I mentioned above. Then after you save the plan and then load it, it will show up in the GNS 530. The exception to this is you can directly use the GNS530 Direct TO button. For example, if you open the P3D flight planner (under the Navigation menu option), pick KJFK as your departure, KORD as your destination, and High-Altitude Airways as the Routing option, then after saving and loading the FP you should see the following on the GNS530 FPL page: While the P3D flight planner works, I think you will find the Little Navmap tool much more flexible and convenient to use. It also provides a great moving map display as you fly. Finally, if at some point you decide to upgrade to a more capable GPS like the GTN 750 (I would suggest the RXP unit -- currently on year-end sale), then you can enter a FP 'waypoint - by - waypoint' directly into the GPS.
