Mechanic to pronounce a phrase?

Featured Replies

Hi,
Is there a way to have the mechanic say a phrase on command within a VoiceScript?
I am using a “blank” (no-action) VoxKey command with the phrase in its “Optional TTS reply”, but clearly the voice is not right.

More generally, how to use scripts in the Mechanic or Purser folder?

Thanks for your help,
Giorgio

Only if you use a TTS voice for Mechanic.

Voice packs for human recorded MCE mechanics only have a few hundred full sentence recordings.

The other option..

If someone can record audio in wav file, you can play those on request as replies.

Disable "verbose" option and you can have entire exchanges with mechanic, using custom speech and wav playback as replies.

Thanks for the clarification and suggestion. Fine.
So, why are there Mechanic and Purser folders? What is their purpose and use?

Thanks,
Giorgio

You're welcome.

Cabin crew can only handle the doors and make announcements on request.

It's mostly for those using TTS voices and want some random chatter with pursers (and upset the wife in the process 😄)

As far as Mechanic goes, he can deal with GPU, cargo doors, refueling and pushback.

You could bypass the MCE system and use a completely custom interaction (own speech, even in ANY language) with say a friend of yours acting like a mechanic and replying via wav files. Same with Purser.
