RX/TX flags xPilot

Featured Replies

Hi Jean-Luc, could you add in the next update the RX/TX flags with xPilot. The datarefs are : TX => "xpilot/ptt" and RX => "xpilot/audio/rx".

Thanks a lot

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion and the information.

It looks like there are 2 "xpilot/ptt":

1) as a dataref

release notes mentioning: "Set xpilot/ptt dataref value if the PTT set within the UI client is toggled"

2) as a command

release notes mentioning: "PTT configuration has been added back into the xPilot client. You can still set your PTT using the X-Plane keyboard/joystick bindings if you prefer."

Q: is the dataref updated when using X-Plane command or only when using the client, or both?

The dataref is updated when using the command

Thank you.

We've now implemented support for this in the next update, both the GTN and the GNS V2.

Please note it won't be tested and we count on xPilotClient users to report any issue post release.

Hi, xPilot was updated today. They've added COM1/COM2 radio RX datarefs ("xpilot/audio/com1_rx" and "xpilot/audio/com2_rx"). These datarefs replace the previous one ("xpilot/audio/rx"). A value of 1 indicates radio audio is being received. A value of 0 indicates no audio is being received. The TX dataref remains "xpilot/ptt" and is updated when using the command and the client

Hi,

Thank you for the heads up!

I was wondering whether our implementation was working by the way?

PS: how do you know whether you're transmitting on COM1 or COM2?

Hello, for now the current implementation is not working obviously due to latest xPilot update removing the older dataref. You know the transmitting com via the audio panel dataref (sim/cockpit2/radios/actuators/audio_com_selection) which is currently working with the GTN 😉

thank you for the additional info!

Hi Jean-Luc, just to let you know that flags are still not working with xPilot and latest GTN update.

Best regards

The latest v2.5.27 is now using the new xPilot datarefs. These are specifically:

  • "xpilot/audio/com1_rx"
  • "xpilot/audio/com2_rx"

These are read iif "xpilot/login/status" is not 0 and the GTN is using these if they are present, otherwise, it is using the older "xpilot/audio/rx" as a fallback.

Please note the GTN is looking for these only if there is a plugin with the following signature: "vatsim.xpilot.plugin"

Did it change too?

Hi, the plugin signature has changed apparently it is now "org.vatsim.xpilot" 😉

Sure, go figure LOL! This will have to wait for the next update but hopefully if this is the only change the new datarefs should work then! Otherwise, I'm counting on you to let me know!

Will keep you updated ! Thanks a lot 🙂

Hi,

Is there any chance that we can use this as well in the GNS v2? Is there a beta update/patch which can be tested with x-plane 11.50+?

Kind regards,

Rick

Sorry we've missed this one. I've just added this in the code base right now so that I'm sure it will be included with the next update. Thank you for the reminder!
