is there a way to turn of showing where my airplane is.

to explain , I would like to just have my course line on a sectional chart. As on IFR flights I would like to trust my skills to navigate fir instead of always seeing where I am, its kinda cheating

You can minimize P2A using the little arrow key in the bottom left of the screen, which removes the Map and Flight plan.

If you want to still see the Flt Plan, you can use the slider between the Map and Flt Plan and move it all the way to the left, hiding the map under the flight plan.

Correct.  No way to turn off the yellow plane.
