October 11, 200619 yr In FS9, when I got too many bluuries, Id simply do a shortcut command for "re-load scenery". This was sometimes quite fast, or a bit slower with complex scenery.BUT, in FSX, where this is really needed, it takes a LONG time, meaning many minutes sometimes. This is a bug>? why so long I suspect that it is because it is loading mesh and scenery for an area way larger than it did for FS9. Im landing in Boston and Im sure on re-load, it is getting data for Montreal too....AND to make things worse, when you step down in levels, like in ***lowering*** the amount of AI, its reloads everything????any suggestions to speed it up?allen
October 12, 200619 yr Hi,Move your sliders left a notch or 2.Additional memory helped me a bit.Defrag your FSX HD.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 12, 200619 yr Additional memory helped me a lot. Going from 1 to 2G on my AMD rig reduced reload times from over a minute to 5-10 seconds.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

October 13, 200619 yr >It still takes 3 minutes or more (this time it is more) to>re-load scenery.>I have 2 Gigs RAM, and X850XT card, P4, 3.2G>I've noticed it depends on my desktop setup. I get best results running in single monitor mode at about 1360x1024 or less, also the plane used has an impact, simple c172s or the kite works best.I have the same PC setup as you, except I OC to 3.5Ghz. October 13, 200619 yr Next time that happens, try this instead.Hit ESC as if you are quiting the flight. At the confirmation screen, hit ESC again to return to the flight. It has been working for me. YMMV.And, if the textures go blurry too often, try lowering some of the texture related sliders....jim

So how long is the "re-load scenery" time in FSX if the command is given again immediately after a scenery re-load has been completed?
