February 7, 20206 yr Are the KA350i system requirements of 16 GB RAM and 8 GB video RAM really the minimum or would a lesser machine (8 GB RAM and 3 GB video) be sufficient with reduced settings? I was excited to get the long-awaited KA350i until I saw the system requirements include 16 GB RAM and 8 GB video RAM. My lowly i5 system with 8 GB RAM and 3 GB video limps along well enough with my MilViz 310R, DHC2 and PC-6 as well numerous other aircraft by A2A, Vertx and others, all while flying over various ORBX regions and airports. I do sometimes have to throttle back the P3D graphics settings to reduce stutters but still manage some great flying. | HP Omen 45L Gaming Desktop | [email protected] | 64GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24GB | 2TB HDD | Saitek X52 Pro |
February 8, 20206 yr Author Thanks for the reply Mac. I got a reply on the MilViz support forum saying that it'll work but i MIGHT have to lower my settings especially addon scenery/airports so I went ahead an got it. My first attempt to start P3D after installing it with no changes to my settings resulted in locking up the whole computer. I uninstalled, took P3D down to low/medium on about everything, disabled a bunch of addon scenery, reinstalled the KA350i and it seems to be working ok at the moment although I haven't actually taken off yet. This is my first turboprop twin and there's a bit of a learning curve but that's one of my favorite parts.
