P3D v4 frame drop with three monitors

Featured Replies

I puzzled. I’m running P3d with Aerosoft A320pro with three monitors, main screen and two smaller ones on each side.  One of them has the mcdu undocked and if I undock another mcdu or pfd to the other screen the frame rate drops from 60 to 30. I doubt it’s a hardware issue as the PC is an Intel i9 9900k running at 5.0, GPU 2080 ti, 32gig ram ddr 3200 with m.2 drive.    🤔 any ideas anyone?
and thanks. 🙂

Hello,

This is a wellknown problem and it doesn't seem to have a solution. I had the same problem and looked everywhere for a solution.

What helped for me: disable Vsync and frame rate limiters.

I use on the PMDG 737 Air manager and Fsxpand to display the EICAS / flaps and stanby instruments on the other screens, then I don't have to undock to another window

Gr.

If you use Vsync and your system cannot maintain the current FPS it will go a step lower :

Eg : 60 hertz monitor / vsync on

If your pc can maintain 60 FPS you will see 60 FPS

If your pc cannot maintain 60 FPS It will step down to 30 ( 60/2 )

If your pc cannot maintain 30 it will step down to 20 ( 60/3 )

And so on ...

With undocking a second window your pc isn’t capable of maintaining your FPS so it stepped down to half of it...
