P3D v4.5 Maximum detail and performance tuning testing

Featured Replies

The accumulation of much trial and error testing Prepar3D to reach the tightest high detail and maximum smoothness tune running Nvidia DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) @ 2560x1440.

I think this round of tuning has reached the limits of what my now 3 year old hardware can achieve, maybe when the next gen of Nvidia cards come out I'll be due for a new workstation.

Cheers

Items Tuned:

====================

  • Extensive prepar3d.cfg changes to suit my style of flying.
  • The P3D GFX sliders are mostly at max (autogen draw distance is at medium).
  • Reshade and custom filter tuning.
  • Some direct hand customisation of P3D shaders.
  • Customisation of Tomatoshade.
  • Tuning of Active Sky Next.
  • Tuning of Rex Direct Textures.
  • Customisation of the video driver use via Nvidia Inspector
  • A custom Affinity Mask designed to remove all loads from core 1 except P3D's main thread, yet still allow P3D to use all cores of the CPU.

Unfortunately no vegetation shadows as it pushes the GFX card beyond its limits (and I cannot afford a 2080Ti)

Tecnam Sierra from Ant Aeroplanes (I love this plane, practically A2A quality at a fraction of the price).
