RXP GTN and GNS V2 Freeze, FSX first run, MAR2020 (resolved)

Jean-Luc good morning

Following my tests about RXP GTN and GNS V2 FSX freezing, with default B58, I have an update:

The behaviour of  FSX is very stable and continue stable if RXP gauges (GTN and/or GNS V2) load normally, and it take less then 1 second for the  bezel to load and some seconds later the trainer gauge itself to load, and FSX and RXP Gauges continue working without any issue, For example I manage to configure and load 5 (2x GTNs + 2x GNS V2 + GPS replaced with GNS 530-1 in the B58,

The problem raises, if the called RXP gauge doesn´t load. From that moment on, FSX freeze and the Process Explorer API don't identify that FSX is not responding, the CPU load is a constant near 8% and the memory is also freezed. At this point the Process Explorer doesn't show any evidence that a problem is occuring and it will never shows, even when I click a second and tird times, and FSX window whites (with transparency) and I press the red cross to close FSX, Process Explorer does not recognized FSX problem, and only shows FSX shutdown.

Following your guidance, I start to use B58 previously configured with above mentioned 5 gauges, in order to obtain a more robust log, but the only relevant logs created were two due to GNS V2 crashes (rxpGnsSim.dll.log), namelly:

Log 1 (this log was preceded by a error that "G530SIM.exe has stopped working" plus icon and name=Garmin 400)

After some digging and experiment in the Nvidia Profiler and Control Panel, I did not find yet, any improve configuration that could lead to identify a coulprit for this RXP gauges start/freeze erracty behaviou on my system.

Thank you for your time and help, hope this information could also help, I will continue to look for this issue, if possible with your help.

All the best

Hi,

I didn't catch this on your previous report but you're mentioning Steve DX10...

This is the kind of 'tool' which interferes/interposes between the app and the video driver.

What about disabling it and comparing?

Also are you sure you're using their latest version, and/or their latest version didn't introduce a bug?

https://stevesfsxanalysis.wordpress.com/2019/12/12/dx10sceneryfixer-version-5-3/

I would have liked the detailed data for "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in G530SIM.exe [6628]." This would have given the location within the exe which caused this. You can salvage this info and maybe more in using this tool:

Jean-Luc good morning

I finally manage to make Reality XP GTN and GNV V2 to consistently start after a PC boot. My PC setup, also show some additional stability when starting RXP from a more common FSX rebbot, but I didn't made sufficient tests yet.

Your Reality XP gauges, when they start, they work 100%, in every airplane and in both the window mode and the panel replace original gauge mode, they are wounderfull gauges, excellent work.

Following your guidance, I have update my GPU driver and install all the other Nvidia fancy capabilities to it (GeForce Experience, etc). I also, adjust my GPU settings following the simple and clear orientations from this guide "DX10 FIXER "HOW-TO" GUIDE" available from https://www.nzfsim.org/fsx-p3d-tweaks/dx10-fixer-for-fsx/ , although dated from 10 December 2014 its guidance integrate the four pilars of Windows - FSX Graphics, namelly; FSX Settings, Steve Dx10, Nvidia Profile Inspector and Nvidia Control Panel, very clear and usefull.

At this time, with this acceptable solution for my problem, my request for support is complete. Because, I naturally, have to configure my ppanes with the gauges, I also will continue my tests, but only report here if something clear and or necessity popsup.

In support of your future development of this gauges, I would like to sudgest the fullfilment of Reality XP GTN gauge capabilities, whithin the universe of present addons for Traffic and Weather or its default FSX counterparts.

Finaly, I would like to thank you for your support and guidance.

All the best,

Kromado
