VFR patterns short legs

Featured Replies

Hi

I'am all new to P2ATC and I love it so far.

I mainly fly small GA airplanes like the cessna 172 of x-plane.

I do find the legs of the patterns to be very short, much shorter than I'm used to.

i.e. Coming in to land the "final" leg is only like 0.3nm long..

Is there a way to manipulate that distance?

p.s. how do I add a screenshot to this post?

thx. in advance

No, there is not a setting.  It is determined by the type o aircraft you are flying, so, for example, a jet would have longer pattern legs.

Just fly outside the downwind, extend the point where you turn to base and you should have a longer final.  The depicted pattern is not meant to be a mandatory route.

Ok, that makes sence.

But what excactly does the "VFR Pattern size %" in the ATC section of the Config menu do then?

It looks like it does something to the final leg, but the final leg only. Shouldnt it impact the whole VFR pattern?

Cheers
