Not Doing so Well with P3d V5

Featured Replies

Well, I installed the sim, no problem. Then I installed Orbx FTX Global, no problem. Also installed Orbx Norway and Pacific Northwest. It has been not so good since then. Tried to install FlyTampa Copenhagen V2, installed fine but then I went to check it out and it was all messed up. Look like a mixture of default buildings and maybe some FlyTampa. Tried to install Just Flight Traffic Global, which had a path for v5, and got tons of error messages once I opened up P3d v5. So far not so good. I hope as time goes on all of this stuff works okay because right now I am losing faith.

Cheers, Pete

A lot of older sceneries need their afcads updated to a more recent version. There is a new sdk out to be able to do this so it’s up to developers to update it.

The same thing happened in V4, a lot of sceneries needed to be updated and quite a few never were.

I went from V3 early on to V4 and I did not hang up and delete v3 for quite a few months. In due time the more reputable developers will update their sceneries. But I’m willing to bet a few never will and we will have to have unsupported community developed afcads and tweaks to make them work.

Yeah that is what i am hoping for. I would prefer to hold on and not return V5 in the hopes that everything gets sorted out.
