April 16, 20206 yr Hi, I have a question for anyone familiar with addon scenery in FSX. I have REX Essentials (for airport ground textures, aprons, runways, water and sky/clouds/weather) and Orbx FTX Global, Vector, Open LC and a slew of addon Orbx regions and airports. Recently I have downloaded a few freeware scenery packs (KCRS, ME55 by falcon409 over at SimOuthouse), both of which are grass airstrips. Upon download and install in my FSX, I notice no grass strips present but a carefully placed asphalt runway with no markings lying on top of the area where the grass strip(s) would normally be. The scenery creator insists I must have some duplicate airport entries for these 2 airports, hence I see the asphalt textures which he says are most likely from another scenery pack. I have no other scenery for these 2 airports anywhere. Simple Airport Scanner by ScruffyDuck also found no duplicate entries for these 2 airports. So what is it in my FSX install, which insists on installing asphalt runways into scenery which has no such thing ? Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

(BTW ME55 is in the SOH library ....... search author falcon409 and all of his stuff comes up, or look for Mary Talbot Memorial airport.) Like I said, someone (something) is putting asphalt runways on top of many of my freeware airstrips and it bothers me not knowing how to fix it. April 16, 20206 yr Administrators Sorry, searched through all 9 pages of Ed's uploads and the only reference to Mary Talbot Memorial airport was a "seasonal texture" package.
