October 16, 200619 yr Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but not being a puter whiz I have question which I can't find the answer to.Many of the suggestions and fixes to improve FSX say to back up files before making any changes. My question is how do you specifically do that using Windows XP Home? I can't find any backup application so what I usually do is to created a system restore point in "System Restore" and depend on that as a backup. Is this the correct way to backup or is there another method? Thanks for any info.Jim
October 16, 200619 yr Hey Jim;Just highlight the file or folder you need to "back up" - using a single left-click on the file or folder, then press ctrl-c. Then find a spot on another drive, another folder, a burnable CD or memory key and create a new folder there, any name is ok, then double-left-click it to open the new folder. Then press ctrl-v. This will copy the original files to the new folder, and will leave the old files intact. You will then install the new files right on top of those original files. If you need them back, just reverse the process. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
