How to completely remove default AI traffic?

Featured Replies

Hi there. It's enough deleting/renaming trafficAircraft.bgl into sceneryworldscenery folder?Which do you think is the best in freeware AI packages/installer: World of AI or Project AI?thanks in advanceLuigi ;-)

Any traffic bgl yes, rename it does not do the trick you have to HIDE it, make a folder called hidden in the scenery folrder and just put it in there.PAI is great.I use UT traffic at 35%And GA-Traffic, freeware, for general aviation.

I leave the name but change the file extension from .bgl to .originalbgl for future reference, and it works ok. no more default AIBill

The PAI Installer was originally developed for FS2002 and shows it's age at times. However, PAI has recently undergone bit of a reorganization with a very talented person holding the reigns. He has worked on acquiring permissions to use better models and building better paint kits.If you use the PAI installer - always use the custom option and install each airline in a separate file with the airline NAME - not ICAO code - in the traffic file name. That will make updating so much easier. You can still do a batch process to install all the PAI packages at one time. The WoA Installer is only for FS2004 and is designed using the .NET 2.0 libraries. The newest version can see FSX, and has the ability to do multiple installs at the same time. It can also update or remove WoA packages - which the PAI Installer cannot do for PAI packages. Now the way I read your real question - which is better? It depends upon the individual airline package.PAI's American Airlines package is a reworked FS2002 package with older models and three year old schedules.WoA's American Airlines package is 2006 schedules and AIA and FSP v2 models. For AAL - I use WoAFor Air Tahiti Nui - I use the PAI package because it is newer and use the PAI new A343 model - which despite a couple issues - is superior in my opinion to the FSP model used by WoA.That's the key - look at each airline - only about 20% of the PAI airline packages are available from WoA right now. For almost all of those - the WoA is newer - so that is what I use. That's the main reason to keep the traffic files to individual airlines - so you can update.

thank you all for suggestions.in effect i like a lot WoAI ability to create several different bgl's and really didn't know PAI installer was also able to.what should i do for saving GA default traffic?or there is something around to create a better one?Luigi ;-)

thanks,>I'll update the various FS2004 default GA files later today to>match the FSX aircraft and airports.i also will work into FS9 traffic to make one compatible with default FSX GA modelsLuigi ;-)

We cannot install into FSX yet except for a very few products. But you can copy your FS2004 AI traffic files and AI aircraft over to FSX.Though I would strongly urge you to use a different folder for FS2004 AI Aircraft - something like AI_Aircraft under the SimObjects folder. This will require you to edit the FSX.cfg file to add that folder to the list of SimObjects.Right now I think it is a really bad idea to put stuff in the default FSX folders if you can avoid it.
