December 2, 200520 yr Yes me too,I'm right handed.Flying I have my left hand on yoke, right hand on the throttle. Then again in planes with a stick, this may be reversed,no problem. The real young have no problems at all.Maby thats why most fighter pilots were just kids. Any way ,over there,in some countries, they drive on the wrong side of the road anyway. Some guys have problems with this however.Like rubbing your tummy, with one hand, patting the top of your head with the other, chewing gum,and counting back wards from 1000 by 3,and reciting the flight manual, all at the same time.Try it inverted, bet ya can't do it. VIN :+
December 2, 200520 yr Author Given all that's been said by real pilots here and elsewhere it seems transitioning from left hand on the left side of a yoke to left hand on a stick is not that hard after all. As a matter of fact I can see where it may even be kind of nice in a different kind of way.regards,Markhttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/mar.../sup_banner.jpghttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/markrey/lsd2.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256 Regards, Mark
December 2, 200520 yr Hi mark, Conspiracies aside like some see in every thing, most of us are capable of left/right motoring, and maneuvering.Like driving a car, sometimes the left elbow is on the left door window sill, and the right handon the wheel, cool !Some times the left hand is on the wheel, and the right shifting,or changing the radio dail. Of course those who use the phone, use the mirror for makeup, read while driving,or talk with their hands, are probably quit normal. In the air you have to communicate, read a map, tune a radio, have your head swiveling, read the gauges, sometimes use a flashlight, and other things. The girl pilots still use the mirror for a makeup check. There was a rear view mirror in the early C-150s.All this, which only goes to show, stop thinking about something, and analyzing it to ad museum and just do it,like the chimps do,when flying Thu the tree tops. The only glitch is writing ,then again some with a little practice can do it. Ya think an octopus would have a problem getting around, thinking left or right?? I think not, they just do it! VIN, here in the bone yard,in the hot sun :-cool
December 2, 200520 yr Author Indeed - we drive RHD in my 'yard', but I had an LHD honda a few years back, stick at that.Only problem I had was I kept mixing up the wipers and indicators - got quite comical at times :)regards,Markhttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/mar.../sup_banner.jpghttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/markrey/lsd2.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1GIG/X700pro256 Regards, Mark
