FSX: No menu, no right-clicking? Can anyone help?

Featured Replies

Hi, all.Been tinkering with FSX and doing some free-flying mostly to some of my favorite places. Two things completely baffling me:(1) I can't right-click anywhere on the screen to undock things, etc. (2) I have no top-menu in the game (and I can't find an option in the settings dialog to enable it... and don't forget that I can't right-click to enable it).Oddly, regarding #1 above, I *know* that the right-mouse button is doing *something* since, when I press it, pressing any keyboard key right after gives me a Windows error "beep", indicating that, perhaps, the top menu or another dialog has been invoked, but simply can't be seen.Anyone else experienced this?I also know that the menu is active since, after years of flightsimming, I know some keystrokes by heart (e.g., Alt-A-F will load the Aircraft fueling/payload dialog...or Alt-O-E-D will bring up the Display Settings dialog). These same keystrokes work perfectly in FSX as well.If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem might be -- no matter how off the wall -- I'm all ears.

Press "Alt" for menu bar. As to right clicking, it will enable "view menu" items on my comp. Because of the tremendous memory use of this program(904MB Max) onmine so far, you might have to wait a while for anything to happen.

And hold in the Alt key a couple of seconds to close the menu.

Thanks.. I'll check it out. Really wish I could figure this one out as I hate to end a flight just to change some settings.

It is a mistake to assume the keystrokes are all the same in FSX. They're not.The Learning Centre and the controls assignments pages are your friends!Allcott
